On Saturday, December 17, a business plan presentation session for the Tsukuba Next Generation Entrepreneurship Development Program for AY 2022 – Business Development Course – was held at INDEST (Minato-ku, Tokyo: Tokyo Institute of Technology Campus Innovation Center) and online as a hybrid session.
Thirteen teams consisting of researchers from universities, national research institutes, and people from private companies gave presentations, and threeventure capitalists participated as external judges. The event was a great success, with more than 80 participants on the day, including those from the outside, both in person and online.
The University of Tsukuba will continue to support those who seek to commercialize the results of their research.

Tsukuba Next Generation Entrepreneurship Development Program – Business Development Course
This course is a University of Tsukuba Extension Programbased on the hands-on practical educational program developed by theGlobal Tech EDGE NEXT University of Tsukuba Program (MEXT-subsidized project for AY 2009- AY2021), which aims to produce entrepreneurs who can successfully commercialize their businesses and promote the creation of startups based on research and technology seeds. Researchers, students, private companies, and others who aim to commercialize their research results can learn essential commercialization skills in a practical way and sublimate commercialization seeds into business plans (products that solve customer issues and present the market size) that can be invested in. In AY2022, a total of six group training sessions were held, mainly in a hybrid format combining face-to-face and online training. In addition to training days, active team activities were developed using Zoom, Slack, and other tools.
