[Event Report] Tsukuba Creative Camp Advanced: Business Plan Presentation


On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, the Tsukuba Creative Camp Advanced (a free course for students of the Tsukuba Campus and a common course for graduate students) held a hybrid face-to-face and online business plan presentation session in collaboration with Tsukuba City.

This year, startup professionals from Tsukuba City and the N High School Entrepreneur Club participated in the business plan presentations.
A total of 12 teams, 11 from the University of Tsukuba and 1 from N High School, participated in the presentation, competing against each other with their business ideas.
The external judges were Mr. Ryohei Takahashi(Executive Officer/Partner, Innovations and Future Creation Inc. (MIRAI SOUZOU) ), Mr. Nobutoshi Maeda(President, NV Ventures, Inc.), Mr. Takeshi Ichinozawa(Attorney, Ichinozawa Law Office), andMr. Shigeo Mametsuka(General Manager, Fund Business Department, Joyo Capital Partners Co.Theyengagedin a heated and intense question-and-answer session with the students.
After the judging session, the Grand Prize, Tsukuba City Prize, Judges’ Prize from each of the four judges, and various mentor prizes were awarded.
After the presentations, there was an exchange between the students and the judges, creating connections that only a hybrid event, including face-to-face meetings, can create.
The University of Tsukuba will continue to support students who aim to start their own businesses through lectures and other programs.

This year, under the coordination of UniversityofTsukuba alumnus Ryo Morikawa (President & CEO, C Channel Co., Ltd.), a team of lecturers including Takashi Kamimura (President & CEO, epiST Inc.) , Kozo Eguchi (General Manager, Investment Division, Kamakura Investment Trust Co. ( President & CEO, Kamakura Investment Trust Co., Ltd.), Shinwa Kobayashi (Representative Director, bajji Co., Ltd.), and University of Tsukuba alumni Takuya Naruse (President, Will Forward, Inc.), Katsuhito Kawai (President, Activista Inc.), and other management professionals, provided guidance to students who were serious about starting their own businesses.
The hybrid format of lectures other than the final presentation also allowed students to interact with each other and actively engage in team activities outside of the lectures, such as receiving mentoring from lecturers using online tools.
